He added that Italy will join its NATO allies in a discussion over the future of the Resolute Support as the negotiations in Doha progress. "Italy strongly believes in the motto of the NATO mission to Afghanistan: in together, adjust together, out together when the conditions are in place to guarantee a lasting peace and the consolidation of the gains of the last twenty years through our cooperation with the Afghan authorities".

Minister Guerini underscored the political meaning of his visit, a testament to the strong friendship between Italy and Afghanistan.
