The Italian Embassy in Kabul, operating from Doha, hosted Faris Hadad-Zervos, Director of the World Bank Office in Kabul, for a briefing on the potential and challenges of the private sector in Afghanistan as a lead of social development and economic recovery. In the face of a fragile macroeconomic environment and a political framework characterized by restrictions and constraints, the resilience of female entrepreneurship is a driving force for change and growth, particularly evident in the most dynamic local communities. These are the findings of the in-depth studies presented at our office to the diplomatic community for Afghanistan, along with the operational document “Enterprise Surveys“, which contains data identifying areas of intervention with the greatest potential impact on the well-being of the Afghan population, including in relation to women’s skills in the labor market.
