The CIDU (Interministerial Committee for Human Rights) has published the Fifth National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security for the period 2025–2029, coinciding with the thirtieth anniversary of the Fourth World Conference on Women in Beijing and the twenty-fifth anniversary of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000).

The new Plan strengthens the Objectives and streamlines the Actions to ensure greater effectiveness, in line with the Women, Peace and Security Agenda. It pursues four goals aimed at promoting and reinforcing the role of women in peace and in all decision-making processes, as well as the gender perspective in peace operations. Furthermore, the Plan seeks to consolidate actions in support of the empowerment of women and girls, gender equality, and the protection of the human rights of women and girls in conflict and post-conflict areas. Finally, it aims to strengthen communication and training activities at all levels, enhancing synergies with civil society.
