Contribution of the Italian Government to ICRC’s Special Appeal for Afghanistan on Disabilities and Humanitarian Mine Action

ICRC

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has approved a voluntary contribution of €1 million to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Afghanistan in response to the Special Appeal for Disabilities and Humanitarian Mine Action.

Every year, hundreds of children are injured or killed in Afghanistan due to the explosion of landmines and unexploded ordnance scattered across the country. With this donation to the ICRC, the Italian Government reaffirms its commitment to supporting people with disabilities and advancing humanitarian mine action in the country.
