In response to the consequences of the recent, devastating earthquakes that hit the Province of Herat, the Italian Cooperation, at the proposal of the Vice Minister On. Cirielli, has sent to Afghanistan 20 tons of humanitarian aid in support of the needs of the population.

The cargo, who left from the UN Humanitarian Response Depot (UNHRD) in Brindisi and arrived today in Kabul, has been organised at the initiative of Italy in partnership with the Directorate General for European Civil Protection and Civil Aid Operations (ECHO), the World Health Organisation, the International Committee of the Red Cross, Ireland and other European partners.

The flight contains 87 tons of medicines, medical supplies, tends, blankets and winterisation kits.
